Lamine Yamal, Spain's wonderkid, has maintained that he has never communicated with Lionel Messi regarding an image that has gone viral.

Messi was photographed bathing Yamal when he was a toddler.

They have emerged, with Yamal shining at Euro 2024 with La Roja.

When asked about it, he told Jijantes FC, "I've never spoken to Messi about the photo of him soaking me.

"Obviously, I was unaware of the photo with Messi at the time."

"My father had it saved and we never brought it to light basically because of the issue of comparisons, which are never good."

Yamal has been compared to Messi since both players rose to prominence with Barcelona.

However, the 17-year-old recognizes that he will never match the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner's achievements.

"No one is disturbed by comparisons to the greatest player in history.

"But those are things that remain because I will never be like him," Yamal told me.
