Manchester City midfielder Rodri believes it is time for a Spanish player to win the Ballon d'Or again.

Rodri's compatriots have not won the prized individual award since 1960, when Barcelona icon Luis Suárez did.

On Sunday, La Roja defeated England 2-1 to win Euro 2024.

Rodri was selected Player of the Tournament, while Lamine Yamal received the Young Player Award.

When questioned about his chances of winning the Ballon d'Or, Rodri responded, "To be honest, I'd want to see a Spaniard win it, no matter who it is. It would be excellent.

"I have heard that [Real Madrid's Dani] Carvajal also deserves it. As an individual, I'm quite proud of what I'm doing and the attention I'm receiving.
