NNL certifies demotion of 12 clubs to the lower league.
The Nigeria National League has announced the relegation of twelve clubs to the Nationwide League One.
The clubs are Stormers FC, Ekiti United FC, 1472 FC, FC ONE Rocket, Giant Brillars FC, and Trade Safe FC.
Others include NAF FC, Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC, EFCC FC, Mailantarki Care FC, Jigawa Golden Stars, and City FC of Abuja.
The NNL stated this in a letter to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
George Aluo, Chairman of the NNL, stated that the board was now preparing for its Annual General Meeting (AGM), which would formally welcome all of the clubs that will participate in the next season.
"To God's honor, the 2023/2024 NNL season concluded with enormous strides recorded by the board.
"We have formally notified the NFF of the promotion and relegation of the various clubs that gallantly participated in the league last season," Aluo stated to the NFF reporters.
"Our next program is the Annual General Meeting of the Board and Clubs, at which we will receive the four clubs that were dropped from the NPFL and the eight that were promoted from the NLO."
"We are prepared and have told Nigerians that we will improve on our previous season's performance.
"We have raised the standards at NNL and the new season will no doubt be competitive as our performance has propelled many of the clubs that participated in last season to become giant killers in Nigerian football."
