They will now face Portugal, which required penalties to defeat Slovenia in the second game.

After 120 minutes of goalless football, Diogo Costa saved three penalties to help his side advance.

England will play Switzerland, who defeated Italy 2-0 on Sunday.

Spain, who defeated Georgia 4-1, will now face hosts Germany in their quarter-final match.
