American singer, Sean Kingston, mother indicted over $1 million fraud
Sean Kingston, a popular American singer, has been indicted for his involvement in a $1 million wire fraud scam.
Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, were indicted on Friday in a federal court in Miami.
The plan allegedly comprised making payments to institutions that never went through, resulting in the accumulation of more than $1 million in property.
The two were charged with one count of conspiracy to conduct fraud and five counts of wire fraud. Following their claimed attempt to scam sellers of high-end specialty vehicles, jewelry, and other items obtained with false paperwork.
The United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida stated that the defendants "unjustly enriched themselves by falsely representing that they had executed monetary payment transfers."
TalkTalk Nigeria recalls that the musician was detained in May 2024 in California. His South Florida estate was raided the same day, and his mother was arrested.
