US Election: If Kamala Harris does not win, I will divorce my wife - Charly Boy
Maverick singer Charles Oputa, also known as Charly Boy, has pledged to divorce his wife of 47 years if US Vice President Kamala Harris does not win the forthcoming presidential election.
According to TalkTalk Nigeria, President Joe Biden stepped down as the Democratic Party's candidate on Sunday and endorsed his vice, Kamala Harris, as the party's flagbearer.
Charly Boy responded via his X handle, saying that after the first Black man President, Barack Obama, America now deserves the first Black female President.
He promised to divorce his wife if Kamala Harris, whom he characterized as his "crush," does not win the election.
He wrote in Pidgin: "If my crush, Kamala Harris, does not win the United States presidential election, I pledge I will divorce my wife of 47 years.
"After the first Black Male President, America deserves its first Black Female President.
"Sorry, Rednecks. "That's how we roll."
Even with Biden's endorsement, Kamala Harris has yet to be officially nominated as the Democratic Party's nominee.
According to The Hill, Hillary has earned more than a quarter of the delegates required to win the Democratic presidential nomination thus far.
