'It's a gift I'll never forget' - Lady Gaga enjoys her performance at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony.

Stefani Germanotta, or Lady Gaga, enjoyed her iconic performance at the Paris Olympic Games opening ceremony.

Gaga performed a renowned French cabaret song, 'Mon Truc en Plumes' by Zizi Jeanmaire, at the base of the Eiffel Tower on Friday.

In a statement posted through V, the singer detailed the work she and her crew did to deliver the memorable performance.

She also thanked the French people for the opportunity to perform in the Olympics, describing it as "a gift" she will never forget.

"I am really pleased to have been asked to launch the Paris @Olympics 2024 this year. I am also humbled to have been asked by the Olympics organizing committee to perform such a wonderful French song—a song to salute the French people and their incredible history of art, music, and theatre.

"This song was sung by Zizi Jeanmaire, a French ballerina born in Paris who memorably performed 'Mon Truc en Plumes' in 1961. The title is 'My Thing with Feathers.'

"It's not the first time we've met paths. Zizi appeared in Cole Porter's musical 'Anything Goes', which was my first jazz release,” the statement said partly.

Gaga remarked that, despite not being French, she has "always felt a very special connection with French people and singing French music."

"We rented pom poms from Le Lido archive, a true French cabaret venue. We worked with Dior to design unique outfits utilizing organically molted feathers.

"I studied French choreography, which added a modern spin to a French classic. I worked furiously to learn a joyous French dance, brushing up on my old skills—I bet you didn't know I used to dance at a 60's French party on the Lower East Side when I first started out! I hope you enjoyed this performance as much as I did.

"And to everyone in France, thank you so much for inviting me to your country to sing in honor of you—it’s a gift I’ll never forget!
