Former Arsenal player Ray Parlour has praised the signing of Riccard Calafiori, calling it a 'wonderful acquisition' for the Gunners.

Arsenal announced on Monday the signing of the 22-year-old Bologna defender.

Calafiori signed a five-year contract with the Premier League's North London club.

"I believe he is an excellent purchase. "He's 22 years old, and he appears to be very eager to improve," Parlour told the Mirror.

"He's gonna be under a good coach now, we have seen a lot of players improve under Mikel Arteta, so now he's just gotta get his head down."

"I like his attitude, he's very confident from the quotes I have seen."
