Paul Okoye confirmed that PSquare has broken up again.
Paul Nonso Okoye, aka Rudeboy, a popular artist and half of PSquare, has announced that the trio has broken up again.
According to TalkTalk Nigeria, Paul and his twin brother Peter Okoye nicknamed Mr P broke in 2016 but rejoined in 2021.
Rudeboy acknowledged in a recent interview with Lagos' City FM that the trio has broken up again.
"The aim for our reunion was to release a number of successful albums. But right now, all I can think of is Rudeboy. Trust me, it's not everything I'd like to say," he explained.
"I was accused of claiming that he [Peter] is the dancer and I am the singer. I know when we go to the airport, people wonder if we are singers or dancers. I didn't realize it was touching him. But I know there was a period when we came together and said, 'Don't let this get to you; you should be proud of what you're doing. That is the role you are playing.
"We did a song with T.I called 'Eja Jo'. That was when the issue started. Till today, that song is still on 3 million views because people didn’t hear the PSquare’s voice that they are used to.
"When we got back together, because I didn't want the problems from before, I told my brother to show himself and let us participate in the creative process together. I told him we should distribute who carries the tracks equally, but it was still not working.
"The new PSquare was calm. I needed previous mistakes to not repeat themselves. However, he [Peter] stated that he is no longer interested. In fact, he informed me directly that he wanted to quit. I asked if we could make it public, but he declined. But what will happen if I go solo? People will call me a bad guy. That is why I am speaking up now.
