The Nigeria international scored in the 15th minute after being set up by Mohammed Diomande.
Motherwell equalized five minutes later when Robin Propper slotted the ball into his net.
Vaclav Cerny scored the winning goal in the 24th minute, after being set up by James Tavarnier.
Dessers' compatriot Leon Balogun started the game on the bench.
Balogun substituted Proper for 13 minutes from time.
