Peter Okoye, nicknamed Mr P, a member of the former P-Square trio, has sent an open letter to his brother Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, following a recent altercation that resulted in their second divorce.

According to TalkTalk Nigeria, the music trio, which includes Rudeboy and his twin brother, Mr P, disbanded in 2016 before reuniting in 2021.

However, in an interview conducted last month, Rudeboy acknowledged that the group had separated again but did not provide explanations.

Rudeboy said in the interview that the group's success was due to his efforts, pointing out that he wrote the majority of their hit songs.

Mr P responded by publishing an open letter on his verified Facebook page on Monday, accusing his brother of demeaning his talent, wife, and even his family.

“My dear brother Paul,

As I have stated multiple times, I am not in competition with you or anyone else. However, witnessing you give multiple interviews in which you consistently denigrate my efforts in the group that we both founded and established together speaks loudly. In your recent interviews, you claimed that you created and sung 99% of all P-SQUARE songs. You discredited me by suggesting that our song with TI “EjeaJo,” which I wrote, was a failure. You went as far as using the YouTube views to discredit me once again.

"You never acknowledged other songs like "Get-Squared," "Bizzy Body," "Personally," "Roll It," "Temptation," "Alingo," "More than a Friend," "Shekini," "Say Your Love," "Gimme Dat," "Senorita," "IGBEdu," and a few others. Were these songs considered flops as well?


"In every interview I've given about P-SQUARE, I've always said "we" and "us" since I saw us as a team. But everytime you talk, it's always "I" and "me," even when I'm standing right next to you. It's as if I've never existed.

"My brother, none of us is the world's most outstanding artist, yet you fail to recognize that God gave us this skill and even gave us another chance to excel after our previous breakup. Instead, you decided to turn the most awarded and decorated music group in Africa into a laughingstock again.

"One thing you must realize is that fans did not fall in love with P-SQUARE because of who sung or danced the most. What set us apart was the magic that resulted from our combined efforts - us two! P-SQUARE was a powerhouse, and fans fell in love with the group due of its distinctiveness and cohesiveness.


"We both have talent, without a doubt, and I have frequently complimented you on your songwriting abilities during our interviews. I've also applauded anybody who has ever written a song for us, including myself as Mr. P. But rather than expressing gratitude for my good words, you appear to find enjoyment in rubbing it in my face, forgetting that it is by God's favor that we have come this far.

"Rather than collaborating with me to restore our number one status in the music industry, you chose to partner up with Jude to claim the number one slot in the P-SQUARE group, always seeking for ways to marginalize and humiliate me.


"You always pretend to be P-SQUARE's songwriter, composer, producer, singer, and backup vocalist; in reality, you are everything, including P-SQUARE's video director, band, promoter, manager, and even choreographer. You are the author and finisher of P-SQUARE! In fact, I disagree with you 100% of the time, not just 99%.

"I blame myself for not reacting to your tweet in April 2015, claiming that you wrote and sang all of P-SQUARE's songs. I did not respond to these false charges because peace, as advised by family and friends, and now I am paying dearly for it.

"So, my brother, tell me: Is Rudeboy or Mr P bigger and more successful than P-SQUARE today? Are we selling out arenas and stadiums individually, as P-SQUARE did? Are we topping the world music charts with our solo songs?

"Do we command and amuse large audiences like P-SQUARE?

I frequently wonder what you really gain from consistently demeaning and belittling me. You've disrespected my wife, my family, my talent, my ideas, and even sided with Jude when he was clearly attempting to persecute me.

"Now, it feels like you've pushed it even farther by attempting to turn the supporters against me by making them believe I'm jealous  of you.

You have been doing everything for the fans to hate me, but guess what? They will never hate me; instead, they will hate us both because we have disappointed and failed them.

"I hope you're pleased now. I truly wish you the best, bro! For those who believe these lies and false narratives and come to my page to leave bad comments, I understand since you have been given the wrong narrative for a long time. Please allow me to concentrate and practice my music in peace.
