Transfer: Manchester City midfielder goes on loan, Chelsea announce agreement for defense

According to Sky Sports, Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips is likely to quit Pep Guardiola's team after arriving at Ipswich's training base to finalize a season-long loan deal this summer.

Phillips is said to have been enthused by the initiative after speaking with Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna and the club's chairman, Mark Ashton.

According to the article, Manchester City continue to pay a percentage of Phillips' salaries.

Phillips is yet to be a regular starter for Manchester City under Guardiola after signing the Premier League champions from Leeds United in 2022.

Meanwhile, Chelsea announced that defender Jorja Fox has signed a new contract and will spend the 2024-25 season on loan at sister Women's Super League team Crystal Palace.

Chelsea announced on Thursday on their website that the 20-year-old had extended her stay at the Premier League west London side by signing a new contract until June 2027.

General Manager Paul Green responded, saying: "We're delighted to be extending Jorja's employment for another year. Everyone at Chelsea wishes Jorja great success during her time on loan with the Eagles, and we look forward to seeing her development throughout the season.”
