Chelsea announced on Friday that attacker Diego Moreira has completed a permanent transfer to RC Strasbourg.

Enzo Maresca's team confirmed this in a statement on their website ahead of their Premier League opener against Manchester City this weekend.

"Everyone at Chelsea would like to thank Diego for his contributions throughout his time with the club and wish him well as he begins the next chapter of his career," according to the statement.

Moreira spent the first half of last season on loan with Lyon.

In July 2023, the Portugal Under-21 international signed Chelsea from Benfica.

He made his first-team debut in the Carabao Cup against AFC Wimbledon at the beginning of the 2023-24 season.
