Rangers, the Nigerian champions, began their CAF Champions League campaign with a 1-0 away win over US Zilimadjou of the Comoros.

This was the two clubs' first encounter.

Fidelis Ilechukwu's team won in the 22nd minute with a goal from Frank Uwumiro.

Rangers had additional opportunities, but were stopped by the host goalkeeper.

Next Sunday, the two clubs will face off in the reverse fixture.

The match will take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
