Cristiano Ronaldo hints about return to Champions League.
Cristiano Ronaldo, the Al Nassr striker, has hinted at a comeback to the Champions League.
Ronaldo made the statement while assisting with this season's league phase draw on Thursday.
The former Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus forward was honored with an award for becoming the Champions League's all-time leading scorer with 140 goals.
Ronaldo responded to UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin's criticism that he no longer competes in the competition, stating that he plays in the Asian Champions League.
"For me, it is a pleasure to be here. Thank you for this incredible honor; it means a lot to me.
"As you know, the Champions League is the greatest level in football. I had the opportunity, and not only does my record speak for itself, but I also had the pleasure of competing in that competition. It serves as our source of motivation.
"In football, you never know what will happen. "Let's see what the future holds."
