Olympics 2024: ‘Great rivalry has been created’ – Lacazette on France beating Argentina
Alexandre Lacazette, France U23 captain, has stated that a 'strong rivalry' has developed between two great soccer nations during the ongoing Paris Olympics Games.
The former Arsenal striker spoke after France's 1-0 quarter-final victory over Argentina in the Men's football tournament on Friday.
The encounter ended in a major brawl between both squads.
Following the game, Lacazette stated (via The Score): "A great rivalry has been created between two great soccer nations."
"But, based on what has been said in recent weeks, our victory is both on and off the field." We kept in mind what was said (in the video).
"We had to stay focused on the Olympic Games, but maybe it did give a little bit of extra motivation for us — and for France."
