Transfer: Augsburg signs Onyeka on loan

Nigerian midfielder Frank Onyeka has joined Bundesliga club Augsburg on a season-long loan from Brentford.

The loan agreement contains a no-purchase option, and the defensive midfielder is anticipated to return to Brentford next summer.

Earlier this summer, Onyeka revealed a desire to depart the Bees in search of more regular playing time.

"Hello, Frank Onyeka.We are thrilled to announce that the Nigerian offensive midfielder has joined us on loan from FC Brentford. "Delighted to have you in Augsburg," reads a message on Augsburg's X account.

The 28-year-old joined the London club from Danish side FC Midtjylland in July 2021.

He has made 78 appearances with the Bees.
