'Yemi Alade will record the theme song for Cartoon Network's series 'Iyanu'

Yemi Alade, a popular singer, will record and perform the theme song for Lion Forge Entertainment's upcoming Nigerian superhero anime 'Iyanu'.

The artist made the announcement in a video statement posted on the serial's YouTube site on Saturday.

She said, "Hello, everyone. My name is Yemi Alade." I have excellent news for you today. I just wanted to let everyone know that I have been asked to sing the theme song for the great anime series 'Iyanu'.

Enjoy my song 'Iyanu' right now. This is a love message from me to you, and I truly hope you appreciate it as much as I do.

'Iyanu' is based on the acclaimed graphic novel Iyanu: Child of Wonder by Nigerian creator and director Roye Okupe.

The main title theme song is a collaboration between Yemi Alade, Lion Forge Entertainment, Alcon Sleeping Giant, and the series' lead composer, Femi Agunbiade.

'Iyanu' is set to launch in the United States and throughout Africa in 2025. The series will be available on Cartoon Network and Max in the United States, as well as Showmax in 44 African nations.

Serah Johnson stars as Iyanu, while Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Stella Damasus, Blossom Chukwujekwu, and Shaffy Bello round out the ensemble.

Yemi Alade previously collaborated with Beyoncé on her 'Lion King: The Gift' album, which served as a theme album for the eponymous animated film.
