EPL: It hurt me—Manchester United star laments Ten Hag's treatment

Antony, a Manchester United player, has expressed his disgust with the way manager Erik ten Hag treated him last season.

During the 2023-24 season, the Dutch manager used the Brazilian attacker in a defensive role.

According to the TalkTalk Nigeria , the former Ajax winger struggled with the Red Devils last season.

In 38 games, the Brazilian scored three goals and assisted twice.

Ten Hag opted to employ the player as a left-back, and Antony told the Daily Mail, "I'm someone who expects a lot from myself, and I was certainly disappointed with my season.

"There was a lot going on last season. I played full-back and was a little nervous about it, but when the team is losing or drawing, you want to go on the offensive to turn things around and help the squad.

"Being switched to defence upset me a little. You're upset during the game, but everything is good afterwards.

"I have immense affection for Erik; he has a lot of affection for me. He’s a great coach and he knows he can rely upon me.”
