CAF Champions League: Rangers win 1-0 over Sagrada Esperanca
Nigerian champions Rangers defeated Angola's Sagrada Esperanca 1-0 in the first leg of their CAF Champions League second preliminary round encounter in Uyo on Friday, with Kazeem Ogunleye scoring the only goal.
Ogunleye scored the game-winning goal 12 minutes from time.
Fidelis Ilechukwu's side battled in front of goal once more, as they did in their first-round match against US Zilimadjou of the Comoros.
On Sunday, November 22, the reverse fixture will be held at Luanda's Estadio 11 de Novembro.
Rangers will require a draw to advance to the lucrative group stage of the competition.
Remo Stars, Nigeria's other representative in the CAF Champions League, were ousted in the first round by Moroccan club AS FAR.
