Sean Combs, often known as Diddy, a popular American artist, has been detained in New York.

Following a grand jury indictment, federal officials arrested him in a Manhattan hotel on Monday night.

His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, blasted the US Attorney's Office for pursuing what he believes is an illegitimate case.

The lawyer highlighted that the singer had freely gone to New York in anticipation of the charges.

"We are saddened that the United States Attorney's Office has decided to pursue what we feel is an unwarranted prosecution of Combs.

"Sean Combs is a music legend, a devoted family man, a self-made millionaire, and a successful philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years developing an empire and striving to improve the Black community.

"He is an imperfect individual, but he is not a criminal. To his credit, Mr. Combs has been forthcoming throughout this investigation, and he willingly relocated to New York a week ago in anticipation of these allegations.

"These are the acts of an innocent man and he looks forward to clearing his name in court," he informed us.

According to TalkTalk Nigria, Diddy is currently charged with multiple counts of sexual assault.
