AY Makun, Basketmouth finally settle 18-year feud
Popular Nigerian comedians, AY and Basketmouth have settled their differences after 18 years of a strained relationship.
On Wednesday, the duo shared a skit on their Instagram to promote the release of two movies from both parties.
In the video, Basketmouth could be seen seeking advice from AY after discussing with veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, RMD.
This is the first time the duo have collaborated on anything since 2006, when the beef all began.
The feud between the two has lasted for over a decade, stemming from a debt AY Makun claims Basketmouth owes him.
In a March 2023 interview with renowned media personality Chude Jideonwo, AY recounted an incident early in his career.
According to him, Basketmouth had asked him to stand in for him at a comedy show.
However, after the performance, AY alleged that despite the event organisers having already paid Basketmouth a N30,000 fee, he refused to pass it on to him.
Reacting to the allegation, Basketmouth said he would rather not respond. He also expressed his desire to never talk to AY again.
Basketmouth’s new movie ”A Ghetto Love Story” is set to premiere 22nd of November while AY’s movie “The Waiter” is set for the 20th of December.
