Enyimba advanced to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage after defeating Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso 3-2 in a penalty shootout on Sunday.

The second preliminary round tie finished 0-0 on aggregate.

The People's Elephant converted three penalty kicks, while Etoile Filante scored only two.

Enyimba will aim to become the first Nigerian club to win the CAF Confederation Cup.

This season, the Aba giants are the last remaining Nigerian team on the continent.

The draw for the group stage will take place in Cairo next month.
