How drug abuse led me to a psychiatric hospital - Crayon

Nigerian artist Charles Chibuezechukwu, well known as Crayon, has spoken out about his past drug addiction.

The 'Ngozi' singer claimed he nearly died and was hospitalized at a psychiatric facility.

In a recent interview with YouTuber Korty EO, Crayon discussed an incident he had in front of his record label office and how his coworker, Rema, came to his rescue.

He stated, "One day, my manager saw me and was horrified by my condition. He inquired what was wrong with me, and I said that I just smoked pot.

So I started acting wild. I suddenly started walking down the street. I walked barefoot to Mavin Studio. I feel like I am God's favorite because nobody recorded me during the episode. If someone had recorded me, it would have messed with my confidence, my career and everything.

"When I went to the Mavin studio gate, I sat in front of it and said, 'I'm exhausted, mehn.' I ripped off my shirt and shattered my iPhone. Then calls start coming in. Rem phoned BabyFresy, and everyone started shouting. They asked what was wrong with me, and I said that I was exhausted.

"Rema drove there with a stick, ready to fight. I was lying on Rema's lap. Rema said, 'Bro, trust me, after you pass this stage, you will come out fantastic because I believe this is the final war you are about to fight.'

"I couldn't recognise anyone, but I remembered that term. It was so awful that I considered jumping out of a moving automobile. It was so wild. It was comparable to Mohbad's condition.

"They took me to a psychiatric facility in Lekki. It was profound, and after everything, I returned to Don Jazzy's residence."
