The PDP has formed a reconciliation committee to handle internal problems in Taraba.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State Working Committee in Taraba State has announced the creation of a reconciliation Committee.

The goal, as stated in a statement distributed to journalists in Jalingo, the state capital, on Tuesday, is to resolve internal party disagreements.

The motion, signed by the party's spokeswoman, Andeta'rang Iremea, is part of the party's efforts to strengthen party unity and resolve issues that have created member dissension.
"The committee is supposed to mediate and find solutions to problems inside the party, ensuring that all issues are handled in preparation for future political actions," according to the statement."

The committee, led by Senator Zik Ambuno Sunday, includes Alhaji Abdulrazaq Musa, Magaji Joseph Tahwa, Abbas Kaura, Simon Dogari, and Tina Musa, as members.

Others include Aminu Jika, Oliver Suleiman, Kabiru Jalo, John Mamman, Jonah J. Kataps, Azumi Adamu, Alhaji Mohammed Abana, Julius Taro Bitako, Mohammed Idi, and Lawal Abdulkarim, who serves as secretary.

Peace has eluded the party since its last state congress, with the reported appointment of Lois Emmanuel, the former Commissioner of Information and Reorientation, as the party's women head.

The action is still tearing the party apart, according to a party chieftain who talked to TalkTalk Nigeria on the condition of anonymity.

"This has become necessary because we urgently want to put our house in order before the next general election which will by God's grace take place in 2027," he told reporters.
