Wojciech Szczesny, the former Arsenal and Juventus goalkeeper, is ready to join Barcelona as a free agent.

Negotiations are thought to be so advanced that Szczesny is scheduled to undergo medicals with the LaLiga team.

The transfer will bring the Polish stopper out of retirement and sign a one-year contract.
Szczesny has already expressed interest in Barca and intimated that he would never turn them down.

Following Marc-Andre ter Stegen's horrific injury, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has been obliged to find a replacement goalkeeper.

The 34-year-old may need some time to adjust, but he is expected to compete with Inaki Pena for the No. 1 place for the remainder of the 2024-25 season while Ter Stegen is injured.
