Marinella, an iconic Greek singer, suffered a stroke during a live performance.
The 86-year-old singer fainted on Wednesday night during a concert at Athens' Herod Atticus Theatre.
The singer lost her balance and fainted while performing her third song on stage.
The performance, which was also scheduled to include Greek musician Antonis Remos, was promptly canceled.
According to a statement made by Hygeia Hospital on Thursday, "Marinella is currently being treated in the intensive care unit for severe brain bleeding".
Marinella's career has lasted more than six decades.
