Oluwafisayo Isa, also known as Darkoo, a British-Nigerian rapper and musician, said that telling her parents about her sexuality eased a weight off her shoulders.

The gay artist appeared on a recent episode of Layo's podcast 'The Appointment Show'.

She stated that she has been happier after telling her mother about her sexuality.

"When I told my mom about my sexuality, it felt like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders..." "I've been happy since then," she stated.

"Opening out to my mother and father was a huge relief. It was harder on my mother than my father because I am closer to her. It was really emotional for my mother.

"My father was not really engaged in the discourse, but at the end of the day, I’m living my life. And that’s what I’m doing.”
