Hugo Larsson, a Bundesliga midfielder, has stated why he believes Cristiano Ronaldo is the finest player ever.

He explained why he chose the Portuguese over Lionel Messi, despite believing the Argentine ace is the better player.

The 2024 Ballon d'Or nomination marks the first time Messi and Ronaldo have been left off the list in 13 years.

Larsson plays for Eintracht Frankfurt, which he joined from Malmo FF for €9 million in 2023.

On The Cooligans YouTube channel, the midfielder expressed his appreciation for Ronaldo, the 39-year-old great Portuguese football player.

"I don't look up to him as a football player, but more as a person. Growing up and discovering that football is about much more than what happens on the field.

"And in that regard, I believe Cristiano is the best in the world. I think his mentality is admirable.

"I think Messi is the superior player, but I prefer Cristiano. He has this calm aura, which is what drew me to him.

"Even the hairstyle, while growing up, you want to look like him."
