Why fuel from Dangote refinery is ‘pure white, the best’ – Charly Boy
Charles Oputa nicknamed Charly Boy, convener of the defunct OurMumuDonDo advocacy group, explained on Thursday why the Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol produced by Dangote's refinery, is pure white.
Charly Boy said that the fuel from Dangote's refinery was made from ethanol, which makes it more efficient for engines.
He revealed that fuel derived from ethanol contains a high concentration of oxygen, which reduces carbonation in engines.
According to the Maverick entertainer, fuel derived from ethanol minimizes air pollution, which manifests as CO2.
In a post titled "Why Dangote gasoline is white," Charly Boy wrote: "The reason why the PMS is pure like water. Petrol comes in a variety of hues; red indicates that octane has been added.
“When it's somewhat green, Octane is slightly extremely high. When something is yellow, it signifies it contains no lead. That means it doesn't contain any lead. However, if it is as clear as water, as seen in the video, it is likely that ethanol was utilized. What ethanol does is increase engine efficiency and power.
"Because ethanol contains a lot of oxygen, it reduces carbonation in engines, which reduces air pollution in the form of CO2. So, this is the best type of petrol. Congratulations, Dangote.
Yesterday, Aliko Dangote, the founder of Dangote Group, said that the refinery was ready to begin fuel production.
Displaying a sample of petroleum from the refinery, Dangote said President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Executive Council, FEC, would decide the price tag for petroleum products from the refinery.
