"If everybody sang gospel, our world would be boring." - Laolu Gbenjo
Gospel performer Laolu Gbenjo has expressed his views on the diversity of music genres, claiming that if everyone simply sung gospel music, the world would be uninteresting.
In an interview with Channels Television's The Morning Brief, he underlined the significance of musical variety, offering instances of how different circumstances require different sorts of songs, such as love songs for weddings and celebration acclaim for joyful occurrences.
"We must be true with ourselves; if everyone sings gospel, the world will be boring. That is the truth. If you're getting married, don't expect me to sing gospel the entire time; there will be love songs and celebration praise. It's just a celebration," he explained.
Gbenjo also talked about how the COVID-19 lockdown led him to start a new specialty, Alujo Special.
During the lockdown, he began performing for those who sent him images, resulting in personalized songs at his studio.
He also disclosed how he began his singing career, citing his father's influence as a pastor.
"I started singing because my father was a pastor" , stated the man.
