West Brom’s Semi Ajayi Suffers Another Injury Setback
West Bromwich Albion defender, Semi Ajayi, has suffered yet another hamstring injury, leaving him devastated after only recently returning from a four-month spell on the sidelines.
Ajayi picked up the fresh injury during West Brom’s 2-0 victory over Oxford United last weekend, forcing him off in the 41st minute of the match.
Mowbray: "A Big Loss for the Team"
Speaking ahead of West Brom’s clash with Leeds United, manager Tony Mowbray admitted that Ajayi’s absence is a major setback.
“It’s disappointing for him, frustrating for him and for us. He’s got all the qualities to be a really talented player,” Mowbray said.
“He has real confidence in his mobility to defend, which allows us to play a higher line and keep the opposition away from our goal. He will be a loss.”
Despite the setback, Mowbray insists the team must move forward with the available players.
West Brom’s Defensive Dilemma
Ajayi, who has featured in 14 league games this season, has been a key player for the Baggies' backline. With his absence, Mowbray will need to shuffle his defense as West Brom push for promotion.
Can West Brom Cope Without Ajayi?
Ajayi’s injury raises concerns about West Brom’s defensive depth as they aim for a strong finish in the EFL Championship. Do you think they have enough squad depth to cover for him, or will his absence hurt their promotion hopes? ⚽💭
