Daddy Freeze Dismisses Miracles in Nigerian Pentecostal Churches as ‘Choreographed’

Popular media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, widely known as Daddy Freeze, has once again stirred controversy with his outspoken views on religion. In a recent episode of the Outside The Box podcast, he boldly claimed that miracles performed in Nigerian Pentecostal churches are staged and targeted at gullible individuals.

According to Daddy Freeze, while Jesus’ miracles in the Bible were verifiable and well-documented, modern-day Nigerian pastors have failed to replicate such acts on public figures. He expressed skepticism about faith healings and miraculous claims often televised in churches, arguing that they lack credibility.

"I’m sorry, but I don’t believe in any of the miracles in any Pentecostal church. I don’t have a problem with the pastors, but I don’t believe their miracles," he said.

Daddy Freeze, who prides himself on having a high IQ of 156, argued that intellectual reasoning contradicts blind belief in such miracles. He questioned why Nigerian pastors could not heal well-known figures like Dora Akunyili (former NAFDAC DG) when she battled cancer or prevent the amputation and eventual passing of Mr. Ibu.

“Christ healed people like blind Bartimaeus and raised Lazarus from the dead—people that were widely known. But in Nigeria today, there’s nobody.”

Opinion: A Hard Truth or Mere Controversy?

Daddy Freeze’s statement is not surprising—he has built a reputation for challenging Nigerian religious doctrines and mega-churches. While his views resonate with many who believe miracles should be verifiable, his criticism also sparks outrage among Pentecostal faithful who strongly uphold their beliefs in divine healing.

However, his argument does raise valid points. Why are high-profile individuals rarely the beneficiaries of miraculous healings? Are Nigerian pastors truly performing divine works, or are these acts orchestrated for emotional appeal?

On the flip side, faith and miracles are deeply personal. Does proof always validate faith? Religion is often built on belief rather than empirical evidence.

As expected, Daddy Freeze’s remarks have ignited fresh debates online. What’s your take? Are miracles in Nigerian churches real or staged? Share your thoughts! 👇
