Davido Declares His U.S. Passport Worth More Than a Million Dollars
Afrobeats superstar Davido Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that his American passport holds more value to him than a million dollars, thanks to the immense freedom it provides.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, the singer enjoys the privilege of dual citizenship, granting him unrestricted access to the United States. Reflecting on this advantage, Davido stated:
“Till date, I don’t care how much money you’ve got, that blue passport is worth more than a million dollars.”
He emphasized that beyond wealth, the ability to travel freely without visa restrictions is priceless.
“The only thing is that I could fly anytime I wanted, like go to America every time I wanted and stuff. That was beautiful,” he added.
The Reality of Passport Privilege
Davido’s statement brings attention to the global inequality in travel freedom. While some people can move across borders effortlessly, others struggle with lengthy visa applications, expensive fees, and unpredictable approvals. He acknowledged that while he can travel at will, some of his team members face difficulties securing visas, often delaying international tours.
This raises an interesting debate—is a powerful passport truly more valuable than money? In a world where access can determine opportunities, it’s easy to see why Davido places such a high premium on his American passport.
His comment has sparked reactions online, with some agreeing that visa-free travel is a luxury that money alone cannot buy, while others argue that financial success can still open doors, regardless of passport restrictions.
What do you think? Would you rather have a strong passport or unlimited wealth?
