Super Eagles new boy Samuel Chukwueze scores for Villarreal in Copa Del Rey debut

Super Eagles new boy Samuel Chukwueze scored in his Copa Del Rey debut as Villarreal played out a 3-3 draw away from home at Almeria on Thursday, November 1.

Samuel Chukwueze was named in the starting line up by Villarreal manager Javier Calleja for the game against lower division side Almeria.

The game played at the Estadio Mediterraneo ended 3-3 but the first half did not produce any goal as both defences were solid before the halftime break.

Upon resumption of the second half the home side took the lead through Chema Nunez in the 52nd minute after he converted a penalty.

Villarreal responded almost immediately through former Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla in the 68th minute.

In the 78 minute Almeria's Francisco Callejon gifted Villarreal an own goal to put the visiting side ahead in the encounter.

Chukwueze put Villarreal two goals up in the 83rd minute when he converted a ball through to him by Nicola Sansone.

Almeria however pulled up an amazing come back when Senegalese star Sekou Gassama reduced the deficit in the 83rd minute.

Gassama then put the hosts back level in the 90th minute to send the home supporters wild, but Chukwueze and his Villarreal teammates have a second leg home advantage.
