Kaduna Helicopter's Attack: No Fewer than 32 People Feared dead, others were injured

According to Punch News, some residents in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State have fled their houses following a Sunday attack that left 32 persons dead and others injured.

The attack was confirmed by the Kaduna State Government's Commissioner for International Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan.

On Sunday, June 5, 2022, a group of bloodthirsty terrorists assaulted Ugwan Gamu, Dogon Noma, Ungwan Sarki, and Maikori villages near Maro in Kajuru LGA.

This came less than 24 hours after militant groups kidnapped 14 people at Iri Station, around 8 kilometers from Idon town in Kajuru LGA's Idon Ward.

The terrorists killed 25 civilians on Friday, but "when villagers combed surrounding bushes for corpses, seven dead bodies were uncovered Monday morning," according to reports.

"The terrorists invaded a nearby community twice, killing 25 people," a resident of one of the villages, who escaped the attack and requested anonymity, said as the villagers were still nursing the pains of their kinsmen's kidnapping and how to raise money for their release, "the terrorists invaded a nearby community twice, killing 25 people."

"The gunmen arrived twice and operated undisturbed," the villager continued, "they came sensing that there would be no threat from anyone." We assumed it was over for the day when they kidnapped several of our people on Saturday, as was customary, but we couldn't sleep that night. He went on to say, "It was hell."

"Our community (Maikori) is completely deserted," said another victim, who is temporarily residing with a cousin in Chikun LGA of the state. We've been here since Monday. We are unable to remain on our ancestral lands. Terrorists can strike at any time, kidnap people, and demand ransom. Every time we had to pay ransom, we sold our farm produce."

He went on to say that the terrorists killed more than 30 people in Dogon Noma, near Maro, including women and children, and razed many homes.

"When the bandits kidnap our folks, they'll tell us that they're going to release the women and kill all the youths," he continued.

"We witnessed the criminals being aided by a chopper." Some of them ride motorcycles and carry AK-47 firearms. Some were dressed in military garb.

"They will storm the market on market days and collect phones." Even after the ransom is paid, the bandits will call and say the victims have been released, only for us to discover the bodies."
