Sudan War: Nigerians Students Queue To Board Buses To Egypt (Photos)
The chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has provided an update on the evacuation of Nigerians from Sudan.
She claims that Nigerian students have begun to line up to board buses bound for Sudan.
Dabiri-Erewa disclosed this in a post via her verified Twitter handle on Wednesday.
The development is coming amidst fears for nationals, especially students, trapped by the war in Sudan.
"As our Sudanese students queued up orderly to board their buses to Egypt en route to Nigeria, supervised by Nigerian mission officials in Sudan," she wrote. Let us remember them in our prayers as they make their way home. War is a dreadful thing!!"
Recall that the Federal Government said today that it will begin the evacuation of over 5,500 Nigerians, including students, who were stuck in Khartoum and other Sudanese towns.
The government announced the allocation of N150 million for the hiring of 40 buses to transport Sudanese residents from Sudan to Cairo, Egypt.
