AFCON qualifier: Super Eagles’ camp for São Tomé clash opens Wednesday
When camp opens on Wednesday, the Super Eagles will begin preparations for their final 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against So Tomé and Principe.
On Monday, the Super Eagles' X handle revealed this.
The team headed by Jose Peseiro will face So Tomé on Sunday, September 10 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
Victor Boniface, Gift Orban, and Jordan Torunarigha were among the 23 players called up for the encounter against So Tomé, with Tyronne Ebuehi and Jamilu Collins returning to the squad.
Kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon, Wilfred Ndidi, William Troost-Ekong, and Samuel Chukwueze are among those who have been invited.
The Eagles, along with Guinea-Bissau, have already qualified for the AFCON in Côte d'Ivoire next year.
