Over the years, some fans have continually compared Phyno, who raps largely in Igbo, to his colleague and regular collaborator Olamide, who raps mostly in Yoruba.

The indigenous musician Chibuzor Azubike Nelson, commonly known as Phyno, has issued a strong caution to fans not to compare him to his colleague Olamide or any other rapper.
