France President Begs Real Madrid To Release Kylian Mbappe For 2024 Paris Olympics

France President Emmanuel Macron has pushed Real Madrid to allow Kylian Mbappe to represent France at the Paris 2024 Olympics this summer.

This comes just a day after Kylian Mbappe declared that he will leave Paris Saint Germain at the conclusion of the season.
Mbappe's contract with the French giants will expire on June 30, 2024, but the pact includes a one-year extension that the 25-year-old France international is unwilling to accept.

The Frenchman, who has been with PSG since 2017, is set to join Real Madrid, his preferred childhood club.

Though he and Madrid have yet to make any formal announcement regarding the talks, Macron, who has always wanted Mbappe to stay in Paris, is convinced that Madrid is the player’s next destination.

Unfortunately, Real Madrid has cautioned their players that they may not be released for the Olympic Games because it is not a FIFA competition.



This means that if Mbappe joins the club at the end of the season, he could be subject to the rule, prompting Macron to issue an open plea to Madrid.

"I'm counting on Real Madrid to free up Kylian for the Olympic Games so he can join the French team," Macron said in a video posted on X.

It should be noted that the Olympic football competition will take place from July 24 to August 9. This indicates that the competition will begin less than two weeks after Kylian Mbappe's participation in Euro 2024.

If Mbappe features in the two back-to-back competitions, he will barely have up to one week to rest before the new season kicks in.
