Lookman’s unstoppable, says Oliseh
Sunday Oliseh, a former Super Eagles coach, has praised Atalanta attacker Ademola Lookman for his good performances for the Italian club, The TalkTalk Nigeria reports.
Lookman has developed as a key figure after joining Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022 for €9.35 million.
Following unsuccessful periods with Everton, Leipzig, Fulham, and Leicester City, the 26-year-old has rapidly acclimated to life in Italy, becoming one of the league's top performers since his arrival.
In his first season, Lookman scored 15 goals and registered eight assists in 33 appearances across all competitions, and he has not shown any signs of slowing down this season, having already found the back of the net 11 times and providing seven assists in 37 outings for La Dea.
In his last three games, the Nigerian has made three goal contributions (one goal and two assists), and his solo goal against Empoli on Sunday left the former midfielder in amazement.
Oliseh responded to the spectacular goal on his X handle on Wednesday, saying, "Ademola Lookman is simply unstoppable on a good day." "I enjoy watching this man play."
Gian Piero Gasperini will hope Lookman can maintain his outstanding form and lead the club to win when they meet Marseille in the Europa League semi-finals on Thursday (today).
Atalanta are now sixth in Serie A, and if they win their remaining fixtures, they will finish fifth and qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
La Dea is also in finals of the Italian Cup and are looking good to win their first title in 61 years.
