‘Igbo ladies not great for marriage’ – Speed Darlington.

Darlington Okoye, nicknamed Speed Darlington, a controversial rapper who recently stated his requirements for a potential wife, which included fluency in the Igbo language, has now reversed his preference for Igbo girls.

In a video message posted to his social media page, Darlington advised eligible bachelors to avoid marrying Igbo women, alleging that they "are not great for marriage."

He describes Igbo ladies as "proud and promiscuous."

Darlington stated, "This letter is for my brothers who plan to marry. Listen to me; you are no more vulnerable than I am. My profession requires me to travel a lot. So, I believe I am qualified to deliver this counsel.

"Avoid Igbo girls; they are not suitable for marriage. I'm an Igbo guy and I am telling you about our girls. Avoid Igbo girls, they’re very greedy and unappreciative. They behave like black American women; nothing you give a black American lady is enough.

"Igbo women are also quite proud, unlike Yoruba and Hausa women. I'm wondering how someone can live with such a braggadocious woman. They are Nigeria's number one prostitutes. "Most social media feminists are Igbo women."



His remarks drew criticism, with many accusing him of venting his personal frustrations on Igbo women while implying that he was generalising his experience.
