Coastal Highway: Enakhena Says Sporting Lagos Stadium At Landmark Is Safe

The controversial Federal Government coastal highway project will have no effect on the ongoing Sporting Lagos Stadium project in Landmark, Lekki.
The Sporting Lagos Stadium is close to the Landmark resort, which has been touched by the massive road project, but the club's general manager, Godwin Enakhena, has stated that the demolition of structures along that axis will not include the stadium.
Sporting Lagos is one of the few privately owned Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) teams. They were promoted to the elite division ahead of this season and have quickly acquired recognition throughout Nigeria.

The club's owners are developing a stadium with a seating capacity of 3,000 in the Landmark district of Lagos-to-Calabar coastal highway project will take off.

Sporting Lagos is unaffected by the Coastal Line issue," Enakhena stated on his official X page earlier today, May 3.

"Sporting Lagos was supposed to play matches at its stadium last season, but the contractor was disappointed." I was there a few days ago, and they had begun laying the pitch.

"The 3000 capacity stadium, Landmark, by Trinity Church, it's in an open space, next to the waters, lovely atmosphere to watch."

Sporting Lagos presently plays its home games at Onikan Stadium. The team is presently 11th in the league table, with 41 points from 32 games, five points above the relegation zone.
