Rivers United confirm Eguma’s dismissal, appoint Ogenyi interim coach
Rivers United have acknowledged the dismissal of their head coach, Stanley Eguma, according to TalkTalk Nigeria.
Eguma, the long-serving coach of the Nigeria Premier Football League, was fired due to the club's poor performance.
In a similar event, the Port Harcourt club confirmed that interim manager Evan Ogenyi will lead the team till the end of the season.
"The Management of Rivers United FC officially announces the termination of Coach Stanley Eguma's appointment as Technical Manager of the Club," according to a statement issued by the club's media officer, Charles Mayuku.
"As a result, Coach Evans Ogenyi, the club's Chief Coach, has been named as acting head coach of the club till the end of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
"The choice is to pursue a fresh route focused at accomplishing the club's aims and aspirations.
"However, we convey our gratitude to Coach Eguma for his services to the club and wish him the very best in his future endeavours."
