Super Eagles: NFF fully behind Finidi – Ikpeba
Victor Ikpeba, a Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical committee member, has stated that embattled Super Eagles head coach Finidi George has the complete support of the soccer house.
Finidi's rule has started poorly, with the Super Eagles struggling in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.
The West Africans held Bafana Bafana to a 1-1 draw before losing 2-1 away to the Cheetahs.
They are currently sixth in Group C, with three points from four games.
This has sparked growing calls for Finidi's dismissal.
"Nigerians asked for a local coach, and Finidi was found to be the best man to lead the Super Eagles at this time," Ikpeba told SCORENigeria.
"The technical committee determined what was best for the country.
"Finidi will therefore continue to enjoy the full support of the NFF despite the recent results posted by the Super Eagles."
