Transfer: Toni Payne joins Everton Ladies

Toni Payne, a Super Falcons star, has signed with Everton Ladies, according to TalkTalk Nigeria.

Payne joined the Toffees on a free transfer after leaving Spanish Iberdrola side Sevilla.

The dynamic winger spent six years with Sevilla.

The 29-year-old is Brian Sorensen's first summer acquisition.

"I'm super excited to be an Everton player," Payne told Evertontv.

"It has always been my goal to play in the UK, especially in a league as competitive as the WSL.

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to play for Everton, a club with a rich history in football.

"It was the appropriate time for me to look for another challenge to push myself.

"It's going to be different and new, and I'm really happy about my decision."

Payne has 21 caps for Nigeria.

She is a member of Nigeria's 2024 Olympic team.
