DJ Cuppy lost his grandmother.

Florence Otedola, a Nigerian disc jockey better known as DJ Cuppy, has confirmed the death of her maternal grandmother.

The rich heiress expressed comfort in the knowing that her grandmother is now "in heaven".

She expressed gratitude for how her grandmother reared her mother, who in turn raised her.

The devastated pop diva said on her X account, "My mummy's mother has died. I find comfort in knowing mom is in paradise, lovingly gazing down on us. What a life she led!

"I'm very grateful for how she shaped my mother, who then shaped me. I am praying for my own throughout this abrupt season of change, but we already know that our God is always wonderful.

"Grandma Kaduna, your spirit lives on, guiding and comforting us #RIP."
