EPL: Manchester United to sign ex-Chelsea defender for Ten Hag
Manchester United are ready to sign former Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso as they look to boost manager Erik ten Hag's squad this summer transfer window.
Alonso is presently a free agent, having departed Barcelona this summer when his contract expired.
According to The Mirror, Manchester United are looking to enhance their left-back options this summer and have included the 33-year-old on a three-man shortlist to assist fix their defensive woes.
Alonso is one of several targets, including Feyenoord's David Hancko and Crystal Palace's Tyrick Mitchell.
Hancko has been connected with a move to Atletico Madrid, but the transaction has reportedly stalled, and AC Milan is also claimed to be interested in him.
Mitchell, on the other hand, may be available at a reduced price considering that he has reached the final 12 months of his contract at Crystal Palace.
