Paris 2024 Olympics: Super Falcons begin gold hunt versus Brazil
Nigeria's Super Falcons will begin their quest for a podium finish at the 2024 Olympic Games when they face Brazil in their first Group C match on Thursday (today).
The match is scheduled for the Matmut Atlantique Stadium in Bordeaux. It will start at 6 p.m.
The Super Falcons have returned to the Olympics after a 16-year absence.
Tonight marks Nigeria's third match with Brazil.
Brazil won their opening match 4-3 at the 1991 FIFA Women's World Cup.
The South Americans also won 3-1 the last time the two countries faced at the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
Brazil will be captained by the famous Marta, who has 118 goals in 183 Samba Girls appearances.
The Super Falcons will meet current world champions Spain and past world champions Japan in the same group.
Randy Waldrum's team lost 1-0 to Canada in their only friendly before the Olympics.
