Peter Obi vs. Kenneth Okonkwo: Charly Boy urges Nigerians against negativity.

Peter Obi vs. Kenneth Okonkwo: Charly Boy urges Nigerians against negativity.

Charles Oputa, AKA Charly Boy, a maverick entertainer, has warned Nigerians not to make nasty comments about Kenneth Okonkwo, a former member of the Labour Party (LP), after he criticized the party's 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

On Sunday, Okonkwo, the Labour Party's presidential campaign spokesperson in the 2023 general election, announced his departure from the party and the Obedient movement.

Okonkwo, in a letter uploaded on social media, attributed the majority of the responsibility to Obi's handling of the party's crisis.

Obi responded by saying Okonkwo was not a mole in the LP, despite his accusations.

Charly Boy commented on the development, saying that disagreeing with the former presidential candidate does not make Okonkwo an enemy.

The entertainer commented on X: "PO has a legendary way of making an incredible amount of energy and effort spent senselessly criticizing him appear to be a waste of energy and time.

"Disagreements and opposing viewpoints are unavoidable in every group, community, or movement, and it is critical to retain a level of respect and decorum even when we disagree.

"Having opposing viewpoints does not make someone an enemy, and it is critical to participate in constructive discourse rather than personal assaults or nasty statements.

"In fact, I don't want to work with somebody who always agrees with me, because learning and listening are important components of leadership. I wish to listen to those who have opposing views and try to persuade them otherwise, or to follow their counsel if it is better."
